Fr. Vincent is a former evangelical Pastor who, along with his wife and three children, became Orthodox in 1999. After serving as a Deacon in the Orthodox Church for seven years, he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on January 1, 2010. In November, 2012 Fr. Vincent was appointed Priest-in-Charge of St. Herman of Alaska Sobor in Edmonton, AB, along with being Priest-in-Charge for All Saints Orthodox Church in Meadow Lake, SK.
Fr. Matthew has been a part of the St. Herman's community since 2003.
Before coming to Edmonton he attended St. Peter the Aleut Church in
Calgary and St. Aidan of Lindisfarne in Manchester, England. He was
ordained a Deacon by His Eminence, Archbishop Seraphim in January,
2010, and to the Holy Priesthood by His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah
in December, 2011. Fr. Matthew studied History and Theology, and, in
addition to his pastoral responsibilities, works in the field of
Heritage Conservation. He and Matushka Krista have a son, Basil, who
is the only true Albertan in the family!
Deacon Daniel, together with his wife, Valerie, and two sons, joined the Orthodox Church at St. Hermans in January, 2000, climaxing a several years journey from the Protestant world, where Deacon Daniel had served as a Baptist pastor for close to 10 years. He was ordained a deacon at St. Hermans in December, 2007. He has three children and five grandchildren. He provides for his family by working in accounting for a computer software company in Edmonton.
Dn. Jesse, at age four, came into the Orthodox Church with his family at St. Vincent's Antiochian Church in Saskatoon, SK. His father was ordained as a deacon for the parish and Dn. Jesse began serving as an acolyte at the age of six. Dn. Jesse continued serving throughout the years as he and his family moved with his dad, who later was ordained to the priesthood, to various places in both the US and Canada. Dn. Jesse moved to Edmonton in 2003 and began attending St. Herman's the same year. He and his wife Roxanne were married in 2005 and have two boys, Nicholas and Samuel. Dn. Jesse was ordained a subdeacon by His Eminence, Archbishop Seraphim in 2005 and to the deaconate by His Grace, Bishop Irénée in December, 2011.
